Things to Do in Lebanon, TN

Did you know that Lebanon is only 25 miles away from Nashville, TN? If you are looking for a quieter place to stay instead of the hustle and bustle of the city, we are the perfect choice for you, along with some other attractions!

Cedars of Lebanon State Park

This state park is famous for its stand of red cedar trees in the state forest. When early settlers came into the area, they were mesmerized by the trees because they reminded them of the Biblical cedars on Mount Lebanon in the Mediterranean, thus where the park’s name came from.

The Cedars of Lebanon State Park has 1,139 acres and over 8 miles of hiking trails. A unique feature of the park is that it has natural ecosystems called limestone glades. Botanists in the 1940s discovered 19 rare and endangered species of plants that grow here and nowhere else in the world.

Meandering through the forest is relaxing and a boost to anyone’s morale who chooses to visit. Besides, you never know when you will spot a fox, deer, turkey, rabbits, or squirrel. This park offers a beautiful family day trip with areas to have a picnic or grill!

Fiddlers Grove Historic Village

Lebanon has gone above and beyond some other small towns in the United States in the way of preserving their local history with their Fiddlers Grove Historic Village.

Visitors to this village will find themselves transported back in time as they tour what life was like in the pioneer days. You can visit a blacksmith’s shop, one-room log cabin, doctor’s office, funeral home, drug store, barbershop, sawmill, grist mill, general store, farm museum, and more! All in all, there are 55 buildings to explore and allow you and your family to experience life before the modern era.

Master gardeners take pride in landscaping with native plants to bring ambiance to a bygone time that we can still enjoy. You can find Fiddlers Grove near the Wilson County Fair Grounds.

Wilson County Fair

The Wilson County Fair is one of Lebanon’s most prominent attractions, and is said to be one that you should not miss! With over 500,000 attendees that come to enjoy the fun each year, it makes this fair one of the top 50 in North America to visit.

Held for nine days each August, it hosts a variety of country, bluegrass, and Americana music performances, quirky contests such as arm-wrestling and rooster crowing, demolition derbies, rides and more! There is something for everyone, and it is sure to delight.

Music City USA

There are many things to do in Lebanon itself, but it would not be fair to neglect the proximity to Nashville, TN. Twenty-five miles up the road, you can find yourself in the heart of music city with sites such as the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry, Honkytonk Row, and you can even visit the Presidential home of Andrew Jackson. Nashville has the lion’s share of attractions that are year-round for all ages and tastes. Yet when you are ready for a little quiet and a slower pace, all you have to do is travel back to Lebanon.

You can’t go wrong with choosing this delightful town for a place to visit. It is rich in history and central to several attractions from history, nature, music, and more.
